Summer isn’t too far away, so there’s no better time to start getting back into your fitness and soak up the great outdoors and everything that the warmer weather in Perth has to offer.

Getting back into the swing of things

With cold and dark mornings over winter, it’s a lot harder to maintain your regular fitness routines and motivation starts to dwindle. As the sun starts to rise earlier and set a little later, now is the perfect time to ease back into your fitness in time for summer! Some of our tips for easing back into your fitness include:

  • Build up your routine gradually – start off with a short walk a couple of times a week and slowly start to progress into every day, then running & a fitness class. This will ensure that you don’t overdo things and do yourself an injury. You’ll also likely need a rest day between your gym sessions, or to alternate between upper and lower body sessions to give your muscles time to rest and recover
  • Find what works for you – Everybody is different - what works for your best friend or partner may not work for you and that's okay. In the beginning it's important to start with something you enjoy doing to keep your motivation high whether that be, yoga, walking, running, gym workouts.. and the list goes on. If you start with something you love, you will notice excercise starts to become easier and part of your routine - you can then start to build on your fitness and add something new. 
  • Fuel your body - Eating the right foods and sleeping well will help keep your energy levels high for your workouts. Nutritious fresh foods will also assist in reaching your fitness goals faster. It is also important to schedule rest days and skip your workout for the day if your body is too sore.

All of our HBF Stadium gym memberships include the development of a personalised workout plan for you by one of our expert trainers. This plan will be based on helping you achieve your specific individual goals as well as your current fitness and gym experience level. 

Our trainers will also show you how to do your plan’s exercises correctly as well as how to use all of our state-of-the art cardio and strength and conditioning equipment. You’ll have all the knowledge and facilities you need to get your best possible summer body. They will encourage you every step of the way. 

You’ll also be surrounded by a variety of people of all ages who are all trying to do the same thing – get fitter and stronger. It’s a very motivating environment.
