Our favourite summer holiday activities

It’s that time of the year again.. the 6-week school holidays are upon us!

As well as being a special time that you can share with the kids – it’s also a bit stressful as you figure out how to keep the kids occupied for 6 weeks! This year we have you covered. Check out our list of the best school holiday activities, for when you don’t know what to do!

Holiday Programs

What better way to break up each holiday week then by booking the kids into a fun holiday program workshop or activity day. As well as the opportunity for kids to meet new friends and learn a new skill, it also gives you a few hours free to get through that to-do list or have some much-needed relaxation time. HBF Stadium is the place to visit these school holidays, for your one stop shop location of all the best holiday activities including Holiday Swim, Kids Sports Club and Holiday Kids Gym.

Day at the beach

Soak up WA in all of it’s summer glory by visiting any one of our endless white sanded, turquoise watered beaches. Make a day out of it each week, pack the picnic rug, umbrella and a yummy lunch and let the kids entertain themselves by building sandcastles, collecting shells or splashing along the shoreline. With the Christmas holiday expenses racking up fast, a beach day is the perfect day out that will cost you virtually nothing!

Phone a friend

The best way to hit pause on the kids saying ‘im bored’ on repeat is to organize a play date with their friends. With a friend by their side, staying entertained is too easy and there is minimal to no input needed by the parents to keep them occupied. As well as freeing up some time for you it will keep the kids busy for the entire day as well as leaving them exhausted after their friends return home.

Christmas Crafts

With one week of holidays between the end of school and Christmas Day, this is the perfect time to fill any spare moments with some Christmas crafts. Dust off the Christmas album and really get into the spirit by baking gingerbread cookies, making tree ornaments or just decorating the house ready for Santa’s highly anticipated arrival. This will also help to build the kids excitement in the lead up to Christmas.

Head outside

Being couped up in the house each day would drive anyone crazy. Make sure to head outside for some fresh air and exercise even on days when you have nothing planned. Walk to your local park or strap on the helmets and take the kids for a bike ride along the beach or river. Getting active is a great way to expel the kids excess energy to keep them from bouncing off the walls at home.

Relax

Isn’t that what the holidays should be about? After a hectic year filled with uncertainty and changes to your plans, it’s time for some much needed relaxation. As well as fun-filled days soaking up the summer sun with the kids, it’s also important to have a healthy balance of days where the kids can make their own fun at home.

We hope our holiday activities will help keep the yourself and the little ones busy these school holidays! With something on offer for kids of every age - head to HBF Stadium for the best school holiday programs in Claremont!
