Q: What is the best part about teaching at HBF Stadium?
The best part about teaching at HBF Stadium is the sense of community not only amongst swim instructors, but other staff members around the venue. I really like getting to speak to everyone, from those at Reception, The Lemon Tree Café, and other instructors apart of our variety of programs at HBF Stadium. This makes me look forward to coming into work every day to have fun and enjoy the work that I do.
Q: Why do you think it is so important for everyone to become a competent swimmer?
Especially living in Australia, becoming a competent swimmer and understanding basic water safety is very important. These necessary skills allow everyone to enjoy an integral part of the Australian lifestyle in a safe manner. Swimming lessons is a wonderful environment for all ages to gain independence and confidence in and around the water.
Q: What is something people may not know about you?
An accomplishment that I am proud of but not many people know about is, I was awarded the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award several years ago.
Q: If you could be anyone else for a day who would it be and why?
I would be a cast member of Wicked! The Musical on Broadway. So that I could perform on Broadway and have fun with other cast members, whilst also being able explore New York.
Q: Who is your sporting idol?
It’s a difficult choice but if I had to choose only one, it would be Keesja Gofers. She is a two-time Australian Olympic Water Polo player, whose ability to balance her sport, doing other things she loves and giving back to the community is really inspiring to me.
