Celebrating Olympic Day
Posted: 20 June 2016
VenuesWest is celebrating Olympic Day and our support of Western Australia’s high performance athletes by welcoming five local primary schools to HBF Stadium for a once-in-lifetime opportunity for students to meet athletes who have represented Australia at the Olympic Games.
We're thrilled to welcome Kylie Wheeler (heptathlon), Travis Nederpelt (swimming), Blair Evans (swimming), Olivia Vivian (gymnastics) and Belinda Stowell (sailing).
Olympic Day is a world wide event, held every year on 23 June to celebrate the Olympic Games and Olympic values.
There's also activities available throughout the day for our regular patrons.
Swimming
Test yourself against the current world record 50m freestyle time in the indoor pool with full timing equipment set up from 9.00am - 11.00am. Meet at the scoreboard end of lane 8.
Gym
A qualified strength and conditioning coach will teach you correct technique, while bars set up with Olympic record weights will be on display. This is on offer from 12.00pm - 6.00pm.
While you're at the venue, take the time to view the digital memorabilia display as well as profiles of athletes already selected to the Australian team.
